How to Make a Natural Oily Skin Scrub

Oily skin can be a challenge to deal with. It seems no matter what products you use or how frequently you wash your face, it still looks shiny. Not to mention the periodic breakouts that seem to take weeks to clear. Although most people think of oily skin as being a problem of the young, it doesnt always resolve as you get older. In some cases, oily skin problems can even extend into the senior years.

If youre using commercial products to cleanse and care for your oily skin, you may be contributing to the problem. Some of these products contain large amounts of drying agents such as benzoyl peroxide which can irritate the skin and make the problem worse. Some of them also may contain additives that can clog the pores, causing an outbreak. One of the best ways to avoid this problem is to make your own, all-natural oily skin care products at home. Heres a recipe for a simple-to-make oily skin scrub that wont over dry your skin or clog your pores. Its a wonderful scrub for exfoliating your skin to give it that natural glow of good health.

Oily Skin Scrub Recipe

To make this scrub, youll need access to a blender or a food processor. The basic ingredients are easy to find in your local supermarket.

Ingredients needed:

One fresh orange

One fresh lemon

Cornmeal

Directions to make your oily skin scrub:

Remove the outer peel from the oranges and lemons. Place the insides of the fruit in a container to eat for breakfast or use later in a recipe. Place the peels into a blender or food processor.

Grind the peels in the food processor or blender until theyre fine in texture.

Place the ground fruit peels in a bowl and add an equal quantity of cornmeal.

Store the mix in a glass container until youre ready to use it.

How to use your oily skin scrub:

Pour a small amount of the mix into a bowl and slowly add warm water while stirring to create a very thick paste. Avoid adding too much water.

Dampen your face slightly and rub the paste into your skin using a circular motion. Continue to massage the skin with the paste for a minute or so.

Rinse with cool water.

Admire your glowing skin!

When you make your own oily skin scrub, you not only save money, but you also know everything youre applying to your skin. Its the safest way to avoid those questionable chemicals found in most cosmetic products.
